In 2026 we will be running three main classes, which are Touring Cars, M-Chassis, and Tamiya Trucks. We will try to accommodate other classes where possible, such as F1, where there are enough entrants to warrant it. All of our classes are based around 1:10 electric on-road chassis, we don't run nitro at Carlisle at all.

Below is a quick overview of each class, click through them to see a more detailed description and a full list of rules.

Touring Cars

The Touring Car (TC) class is open to any commercially available electric 1:10 on-road chassis that is 190mm wide. Most of these cars are 4wd, but 2wd "Fronties" are also permitted to race.

This is the only class we regularly run that permits brushless motors, so it is usually the fastest class racing at Carlisle.

Tamiya M-Chassis

This class is open to any of the Tamiya chassis denote with the M-XX chassis number. This is a 2wd class that run brushed Torque Tuned motors, making it very accessible to new drivers.

We also have an M-05 club car available for those wanting to try the hobby before committing to buying a car.

Tamiya Euro Trucks

This class has been the largest growing in recent years, and is probably the cheapest class to get into. All trucks use the 4wd Tamiya TT-01 or TT-01E chassis, a realistic Tamiya truck body shell, and the same bushed Torque Tuned motor that the M-Chassis class uses. This class has proven to provide some of the tightest racing we have at CRMCC!

Formula 1

Fancy yourself as the next Verstappen or Norris, but don't have their budget? The F1 class provides some great racing and is open to any 1:10 scale chassis.

There are some great kits around for this class, which makes it the only time you're likely to see the legendary Tyrrell P34 6-wheeler go head-to-head with a Red Bull!
